Rila is the highest mountain in Bulgaria /Mount Moussala – 2925 m/ and on the whole Balkan Peninsula. It is situated in the south-west part of Bulgaria. The mountain is built mainly of granite, but also of marble and crystalline schist. The twofold freezing of Rila played an important part for the formation of its relief. The multitude of cirques, well shaped glacial valleys, alpine peaks, beautiful lakes make Rila an exceptionally attractive mountain.

Program:

Day 1: Arrive at Sofia Airport. Accommodation In Sofia.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Sofia. Starting for Pirin mountain - Bansko, Bynderitza hut, accommodation in the hut.
Day 3: Bynderitza hut – Vihren hut – ascend Vihren /the highest peak in Pirin – 2914 m/, /4 hours/
Day 4: Vihren hut – Bynderitza lakes – Todora`s lakes – Vasilashki lakes – Damjanitza hut /5 hours/.
Day 5: Descend from Pirin mountain to Bansko – Sapareva banja / the mineral spring/ - Pionerska hut – Seven lakes hut /2196m/
Day 6: Seven lakes hut – The Seven lakes /the most famous lakes in Bulgaria/ - Rila monastery – 6 hours.
Day 7: Sightseeing in the Rila monastery /the biggest monastery in Bulgaria, the St. Ivan Rilski`s grave/; Return to Sofia.
Day 8: Departure from Airport Sofia.
