Pirin rises in the south-west part of Bulgaria, between the rivers Mesta to the east and Struma to the west. Pirin takes the second place in our country and the third place on the Balkan Peninsula for its height. Three of its peaks are over 2900 m. high and the highest among them is Vihren (2914 m.). The mountain is composed of two types of rocks mostly - granite and marble. The beauty of Pirin is due to Quaternary period, when it was frozen. Thanks to the long-lasting glacial activity we can enjoy the whimsical forms of ridges, the hewed out glacial valleys, the deep cirques, the lakes.

Program:

Day 1: Arrive at Sofia Airport. Accommodation In Sofia.
Day 2: Starting for Dobriniste - Gotze Delchev hut – Besbog hut
Day 3: Besbog hut – Popovo ezero /lake/ – Tevno ezero /lake and hut/ - 4 hours
Day 4: Tevno ezero – Bynderitza lakes – Vihren hut - 5 hours
Day 5: Ascend Vihren /the highest peak in Pirin – 2914 m/, return to the hut – 5 hours
Day 6: Vihren hut – cirques Spano pole – Jane Sandanski hut – 6 hours
Day 7: Descend from the mountain to Melnik, accommodation in the town. Sightseeing in Melnik, Sand towers, Rozhen monastery, place Rupite /mineral spring/. Wine tasting in underground celler (Damianitza Winary)
Day 8: Departure for the Rila monastery. Meanwhile sightseeing the Stob`s pyramids – nature landmark Sightseeing in the Rila monastery /built in X century, the biggest monastery in Bulgaria/, the St. Ivan Rilski`s grave.
Day 9: Return to Sofia. Departure from Airport.
